Overview - HOGAR ESPERANZA RENOVADA

Hope Renewed’s Home of Hope is located about 4 hours away from Guatemala City. This home for girls exemplifies Hope Renewed’s dedication to orphan care and to the Guatemalan community. The home covers 5 beautiful acres and houses approximately 30 girls from ages 5–17 years old.

In 2007, when international adoptions closed in Guatemala, it was estimated that the orphan population was more than 370,000. While this number would be significant in any country, when you consider Guatemala’s small population of only 17.5 million people, this percentage is staggering. This number has increased exponentially, creating a situation across the country of overcrowded orphanages, poor living conditions and in many cases, abandonment.

Hope Renewed’s Response

Providing a safe, nurturing, and God-centered environment for the girls is our first priority. We are devoted to caring for their physical, spiritual and mental health and modeling the importance of education and positive character development. We believe in our girls at Mazatenango and the power they have to develop and eventually change a nation.

As Guatemala struggles to manage the growing orphan population, Hope Renewed’s mission is to walk alongside these girls, to serve them by providing basic necessities for their well-being now and equip and empower them for their futures as young adults.  In the middle of a nearly hopeless orphan crisis, our girls are surrounded by loving care, flourishing, excelling academically and preparing for their futures.
