hope renewed Preschool - Zone 3, Guatemala City

One of Guatemala City’s poorest neighborhoods, Zone 3, is the site of the Guatemala City Dump.  Over 13,000 people live near and/or work in the dump, scavenging through garbage and rubbish as a means to feed their families. Residents of Zone 3 often work 14 hours a day in rain or shine to collect items to sell and may make only $3-5 at the end of their work day. Serving children ages 4 - 6 years old, Hope Renewed Preschool brings a much needed light to this dark and sometimes hopeless neighborhood and gives the children who attend a much bigger picture of who they can be. Join us as we help to transform the lives of marginalized and under-served families.

the sewing center

Hope Renewed’s Sewing Center is bringing hope to communities desperately in need of opportunity and change. The Center provides free sewing classes to students from both Zone 3 and La Limonada, giving them the opportunity to learn marketable skills for the textile industry.

Scholarships of hope

There are currently 25 scholars from elementary school through university, receiving partial or full tuition support, 1 autistic student receiving specialized educational services and another 23 scholars receiving school supplies. We partner with these scholars to provide encouragement, discipleship, accountability and assistance so that they will graduate and be productive members of their communities. Join us in supporting this development program that equips and empowers scholars to stay in school, return to school or receive higher education.

Hope renewed water filtration

Clean, safe drinking water is not the norm in Guatemala. It is estimated that 95% of the water is unsafe to drink. This means that most people need to purchase filtered water and for many it is difficult to afford. Hope Renewed has raised funds to purchase filtration systems to alleviate these issues for the children and families we serve. It is our plan to find partnerships with other Guatemalan nonprofits to provide them with water filtration systems so that those in impoverished communities served by our partners in ministry will have clean water available to them.
