Our Mission
Our mission is to share the love of Christ by transforming lives in at-risk communities through care, education, opportunity, and formation.
Our goal is to serve, equip, and empower the people in the communities where we work so they can ultimately help themselves, thereby creating dependability instead of dependency.
Our programs are focused on the individual as a whole, considering their immediate needs, their environment for learning, strengths they offer as well as areas of potential development. Our programs are centered around four areas: Education, Vocational Opportunities, Spiritual Formation and Holistic Care.
Whether it’s a preschool kid at the starting line of their educational journey, adults looking to continue their education at any level or any situation in between, we stand firm in our commitment to instill hope through education.
We mentor staff members and participants in our programs with the goal to help develop people personally and spiritually, so they will be productive members of society, responsible employees and people with faith-based integrity.
Hope Renewed works with Guatemalans to establish self-sustaining businesses in areas where opportunities for work are rare. We provide skills training through our scholarship and vocational certification programs.
Caring for others is at the core of what Hope Renewed does. To live out our mission, our staff is committed to providing the best care possible wherever we are serving.
Guatemala is one of the poorest nations in the world. It is estimated that nearly half of the population lives on less than $2 per day and 15% on less than $1 per day. Guatemala’s social development indicators, such as infant mortality, chronic child malnutrition, and illiteracy are among the worst in the hemisphere. Hope Renewed began in 2010 with the determination to make a sustainable difference in the lives of the people of Guatemala.
Hope Renewed has provided more than 130 jobs for individuals in the communities where we work.
More than 750 educational and vocational scholarships have been provided through Hope Renewed, creating opportunities for a better future.
Hope Renewed Preschool has helped hundreds of children and their families begin to understand the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty.

From a mission team participant:
“I am so impressed with Hope Renewed's focus on the whole person. I appreciate that they are individualistic in their approach but are concerned with how those individuals will be contributing to the community as a whole. It's a great way to bring healing to a community - one person at a time.”
